  • Bank Account Verification letter

    Hi,
I have account in Bank of America and I went to their branch to ask for Account verification letter. The lady there told me that it is against their rule to give any letter in their letter head to the customers. What shall I do?

Call Bank's main customer service or executive office

Call up the Bank's main customer service or their executive office. Alternatively, talk to the local branch manager. If he/she refuses to give you anything in writing, you can and SHOULD complain in writing to the executive office and the Comptroller of Currency.

USCIS requires the following information from your bank:
      The date account was opened.
The average balance maintained in the account.
The current balance in the account.
All the holders of this account (individual or joint).

Your bank HAS to give this information, no ifs or buts. If they don't make double sure you complain in writing and threaten to close the account.

Writing directly to the CEO's office, gets amazing results!

      Good luck.

Bank of America trying to make money

I'm glad you will get your letter. Please do spare some of your time and write to the executive office of BOA or directly to the CEO that you were misinformed by the branch and let them know that the local branch should have guided you appropriately.

Also, since you had to go through all these hassles just to get a simple letter, which you have a right as a customer, ask them to refund your $10 fee.

I know many have an account with credit unions like Digital Credit Union or DCU and they don't charge anything for such statements.

          Good luck.
