Incorrect Last Name in application

I searched for posts regarding incorrect last name. I found few but not similar to my case.

Here is my query hope some one can help.

I came to know that I have mis typed my in-laws last name in our documents.

Instead of letter "i" i have typed "y ". My in-laws are already scheduled for interview next week.

Should we cancel appointment and re do the paper work and re-schedule.

Don't reschule their appointment. Let them go ahead with the appointment.

If asked, just let the officer that this was an oversight on your side in misspelling the name.

After their interview, please come back to this forums and post your experience for the benefit of others.
