I would like to thank IMMIHELP for the crystal clear information provided on the website & for all the quick responses which I got from the forums.
We took Telugu Appointment for my Parents on July 24th at 09:00 AM, Chennai Consulate.
1. Went to the Consulate by 8:00 AM & were waiting in the queue.
2. Were allowed to enter inside before 8:30 AM, at the entrance they checked with the Passport & Appointment letter.
3. After security check, went to the first counter & were asked to submit all the necessary forms (DS-156,DS-157).
4. My dad handed over the individual forms along with our passport copies (The guy at the counter asked for my husband's & my passport copies)
5. They kept all these docs in a folder, stamped and returned back to my parents.
6. Got the Finger Printing done & were asked to go to the next counter.
7. At the next counter, they got an announcement asking all the Telugu Appointment people to form a seperate queue.
8. Unfortunately there was no translator available , when my parents were called.Luckily the CO was a very nice & co operative guy,who managed to speak few words in telugu.
9. Below are the questions which were asked:
CO : Who is sponsoring you for the trip?
Father : Son-In-Law
CO : Where does your Son-In-Law work?
Father : Company Name & Place
CO : How can I assure you'll come back to India?
Father : Family Tiebacks
CO : What do you do?
Father : Business & I have some farming lands
CO : What do you grow in your Farming lands?
Father : Mostly Rice
CO : Whats your Income?
Father : Mentioned the Income & handed over the CA related documents to the CO
CO : Checked with the documents & said your passports will be delivered to your home
HURRAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CO didn't ask any questions to my mother.
WAITING FOR THE PASSPORTS...
NOTE:
They were some issues with my parents passports like:
1. My dad has his name written differently in his passport (His name was printed SREE instead of SRI) --> Got an Affidavit for the same
2. We recently noticed that the ZIPCODE was printed wrong in my Mom's passport. As we didn't had much time to change it, she carried the same. Luckily they weren't any issues on this in the Consulate.
As I got most of the information from Immihelp, I wanted to share the same with you.
Once again thanks for all the help.
