Visa for Mom ( Widow )

Hi

I am planning to apply Visitor visa for my mom, she is a widow and sponsor is my Husband, he is a GC holder, will there b any problem if GC holder sponsor a visitor visa?

Which consulate ?
Your husband can sponsor for visitor visa?

Is it the first time applying for visa?

Do check the documents list in this site.. If its Chennai consulate,
I can provide more information..

She needs to provide proof to return -- ties back hime (other kids, relatives,
elderly mom/dad, house, business...)

There won't be any problem if ur husband (GC holder) sponsor ur mom..

I (GC holder) have sponsored my wife's mom (widow) at Chennai (7/30/07 Tamil interview)

Qns asked to my m-i-l on 7/30/07:

1. who is in US?
2. Does ur daughter in US have kids?
3. Who is in India. does ur daughter (in India) have any kids
4. Whats ur daughters full name and date of birth (This one is wierd
question....) -> Make sure ur mom knows ur full name (if u changed ur last name to ur husbands or still have original last name)
5. Do u stay with ur daughter (in India)


They did ask for:
1. My wife's passport/GC
2. My invitation letter to Consulate/M-i-L

good idea in ur husbands "Invitation letter to Consulate" is to list out (rather than writing story...) why she would go back to India.

I read all the process in the immehelp and will have my husband sponsor my mom's visa.

I have one more question, you said they did check your wife's passport

did they see all the pages ? or only the visa page ?

Becoz in my passport and my mom's passport my father's last name is different ( meaning Grandfather's name ) so iam worried if that will creat problem

You need to send all pages (including blank pages) of yours and your husband. If there is a difference in name, your mom can explain as why its different
