    Hi
If your mother does not want to maintain the Green card, the visa officer may require your mother to declare it in writing at the consulate. Your mom has to fill in the necessary data and return the signed form to the VO.

Apart from that the rules for a visitor visa will apply. But your mom has an advantage, because she did not stay for long in US which shows her intention is just visit and not to stay.

If the VO asks too many questions about the GC, your mom can answer that she got lot of ties in her country hence longer stay in US is not possible for her.

Thanks rathi for your reply. I'll convey my mom about this that she might have to fill the form etc.
