Hi, My parents are visiting US and they lost their passports. Can somebody please tell me the process? I found out the process of applying for a duplicate passport, but if somebody is familiar with the complete process of getting Visitors visa again, I would really appreciate it.

Per Rules - American Consulate needs to be notified
Sorry to hear.
Per rules if you lose passports containing valid American visas, then you need to notify the American Consulate immediately.
Of course, you also need to register a lost complaint with your police department and then approach the passport office for duplicates.
Once you get your duplicate passports, AMCON will issue new visas, but they will charge you for the stamping.
Hope you have copies of all relevant pages of the lost passports.

Thank you for both of you for the replies. We have applied for duplicate passports in the Indian embassy, Chicago and we got the passports now. I need some help in getting these American visas again. The New Delhi consulate FAQ talks about applying for a new visa if you lost the passport in India. I am not sure if that is the same case even when the passports are lost in USA.
