Waiting time at Delhi Embassy?

Does anyone recently had their appointment at Delhi US Embassy. If your appointment is @ 10am what time should we reach there? One of the travel agent in India said that their is no need to go early because Police will not allow you to stand there. There is no queue system anymore.

On this site I had the impression otherwise. Some threads say that we should go 2-3 hours early. Any suggestions?

there is no point in arriving too early in this heat, 30-45 mts before appointment is enough. Max an hour
