Medical debt issue

I have a concern about this following issue, please if anybody has any advice, help or has experimented this experience, I would really appreciate it.
My father came to the US on a tourist visa about a year and a half ago. When he applied for his tourist visa, he didn't need a sponsor, so just to clarify that i am not his sponsor. On his visit, he had a medical emergency, and he spent one night in the emergency room. He signed all the paperwork of the hospital. He left the US, but I never received any hospital bill. Few times I received phone calls from a collection agency I guess, they ask to talk to him, and I say he doesn't live here, if they would like to leave him a message or tell me why do they need him. They would say no thanks we need to talk to him personally. To end the story, the bill was never paid. Now, he would like to come visit me again, my concern is that would the collection agency report this matter to immigration and will cause him problems when entering the US??

Nope the collection agency has nothing to do with immigration. They won't report anything about it.

Why don't YOU pay the bill?

If you don't want to get the calls from the collection agency and want to get out of the mess, the best way is to change your phone number.

Thanks for your reply knowledgeable, I was really worried about him getting to the airport and they will stop him or something.
The collection agency called me few times months ago, but now they don't call me at all. When I wanted to pay, they didn't even wanted to talk to me about that because i am not the patient. So, I don't know to whom I should pay that debt.

well if they don't tell you anything or can't due to the US laws as you're not the patient, then you can't do anything about it.

i'll suggest you to keep this information somewhere on your calendar just in case something comes up after a while you can fight against them
