What documents need to be presented to VO

Hi All..

When parent go to the interview, what are the documents they are supposed to hand over to the VO. I know they give you your passport, DS156 in a folder and give you after initial verification. Are we supposed to give only this to the VO or should we present other documents as well? Some post I read about the VO reading cover letters and passports. Is it a good idea to give them before asked or should only be given when asked?

Atleast what about the cover letter visitors write requesting visa and explaining ties?

There is no one set of rules.

Keep all documents handy. And give the documents that are asked for or give the ones would prove the point when asked the questions.
