Transcripts or copy of actual Tax returns?????

Hi,
Thanks for providing this website with great information.

I want to know whether we need tax transcripts or copy of actual tax returns.

One has to call IRS (1-800-829-1040) to get transcripts for each year. This service is free and takes about 10 days.

One has to send form 4506 with money order/check ($39/doc/year) to get the copy of actual tax returns. This takes about 60 days.

This website tells to get transcripts by using form 4506. This is confusing. Please advise.

Also, please note that a transcript contains all the details which is needed for mortgage. It should be ok for VO also.

You transcrips straight from the IRS is the best proof you can show to USCIS.

I got mine mailed to me (after I called that number, punched in the keys) and it was just fine. Go with that.
