  • Parents going for visa-Please help

    HI,

I am working in the United States on a H1 B visa.
My wife is pregnant and we are expecting in Jan 08. I want to sponsor my parents.I am the only child of my parents. I am very much worried about their visa as I am their only child. Please help me

    1. My father is retired and my mother is a housewife, they both have some properties on their names, is there any chance of getting visa in this situation.
    2. My father can speak english and mother cann't. I am thinking to take the interview in telugu. Is it ok or will there be less probability of getting the visa if it is in telugu
    3. I am thinking to send my mother alone so that she can show her ties back in India in the form of my father and can get visa. Will this help?

ask both of your parents to attend.
telugu is always better than english.
during interview never let them know that your wife is pregnent.
request visa for 4 months instead of 6 months..
these are my suggestions.....my parents got visa recently..thanks

        Hello Frens,
My parents attended the interview in telugu last week and unfortunately their visa was refused.Interview was in telugu
It was at 8:45 in the morning, they were allowed into the building at 8 am.
after the initial security checkup they proceeded for the indian counter where their DS 156 and passport were kept in a separate file and were returned to them.
        At the interview counter
        Parents: Namaste
        VO:Namaste
Dad handed the file containing the DS 156 and passports
        VO/Translator: Are you working
        Dad:Retired
VO/Translator:where were working and when did you retired
        Dad:Gave him the answer
        VO/Translatoro you have parents
        Dad:NO
VO/TranslatorPointing to my MOm) Do you have parents
        Mom: NO
VO/Translator:How many childern do you have
        Dad:Only one son
        VO/Translatoro you get pension
Dad: Yes I get Rs. 10000 as pension

And that they said sorry and handed over the passports
They have not even looked at the documents and simply refused the visa.
In our case property was a string for my parents to come back as I was the only child but the VO did not ask anything about the property.
I think being only child did add some negative scores to my case.
