help with parent's visa interview

If my parents go for the interview in say October or November and they tell the VO that they want to travel to USA in next March or April ( 2008) then will that be OK? Any guesses??
I want them to go now because I am not sure if the visa dates will be available prior to the time they actually want to travel

It is fine. You can get a visa at any time and use it for as long as it is valid... now, it is going to be a little hard though, since they do not have... well, purchased tickets or an itinerary or a defined plan, but they can always try and if not, try again next year.
