Thanks to immihelp. My mil had applied for visa in Chennai consulate. She had her interview on Sept 6th.
We had some tensions in this interview because my mil is divorced from my fil. But then we specifically mentioned that my mil is the biological mother of my husband and told the truth to VO.
Questions asked were:
How many kids do you have?
How many of these kids are born from you and <my father in law>
For how many days do you want to go US
Where are you going
Who is sponsoring your tickets
When did you see your son last
What is your son's legal status in US
After that VO said that my mil is granted visa and she will get the passport in 2 days time. She has been granted 10 yr multiple entry visa.
