  • Can i travel for leisure on B1/B2 Visa? Is it a company visa?

    Hi,

I have 10 yrs multiple entry R B1/B2 type Visa. I have travelled once to US for business thru my company. Can I use the same visa for leisure trip to USA?

My Company says that its a "COMPANY VISA" and i cannot use it for tourist purposes and that i will have to apply for seperate tourist visa. Is that right?

A quick reply will really help as I have plans to travel next week.

    Looking forward to assistance here.

    Regards,

    Your company is WRONG.

Your Visa is YOURS, you obtained it and it was issued to you. No connections to your company, you overcame 214(b), not your company.

So you are free to use it as you please. For either tourism, or business (even if it has nothing to do with the company). There is no need to apply for a new visa or anything. Just make sure you have a defined plan (reservation, tickets, etc). And do not forget to get health insurance for the time you will be here: https://www.insubuy.com/

Enjoy your visit to the USA

      Thanks!

Thanks for the prompt reply. My company said they have checked with immigration attroney in USA which says that i cannot travel on the b1/b2 which i got via company. I hope after seeing your reply, i dont need to reconfirm with other authorized people.

      Thanks,

      Riyaz

either the lawyer or the company is lying.

Take a look at your visa. Whose name is on it? Yours or your company? Is there any special annotations on it? No, then do not worry and enjoy your trip.
