    Hai,

In Visa my mothers full name is in the place of surname(last name)..and the first name is blank (FNU).........so what we have to fill in the I-94.......do we have to write NA(not applicable) or FNU in the place of first name or we have to write the full name in the place of last name only..........or can we split and write the name in both first name and last name coz in all the forms there is first name and last name to be filled. Plz help me with this as my mother is travelling in few days.

I had the same problem at POE. I left it blank and the immigration Officer wrote as None.
Therefore you may write FNU or NONE
This is not a legal advice.

      I-94 help

      Hai balaji,

Thanks for the reply. you are saying that to write the full name in the place of family name(last name) rite. After looking to ur reply i checked.....but my mothers does not fit the space in the family name that they have provided.

When i came to USA , i wrote my family name in the place of the last name and first part of the name in the place of the given name...eventhough even in my VISA my whole name is printed in the place of surname......i didnt had any problem. So thats y i am asking can we write like this

I have a copy of I-94 in front of me and wrting as it is given in the form.
Family Name- NONE (written by the Immegration Officer at POE)
        First(Given) Name- Ramanathan
        As per passport
        Surname- Nothing mentioned.
        Given Name- Ramanathan
I do hope that I have cleared your doubt.
