  • Separated, but still legally married... Help!

Would the US Embassy deny me because I am separated? I put in my DS-156 form that i will be accompanied by my boyfriend. Will they deny me, because technically i am still married. I cannot find whereabout of my husband, thats why it takes a long time to finalized the annulment of oue marriage. Please advise! thanks!

Or do u advise just to put married? But how about if they asked who will accompany me in the US?

I dont want to lie.. pls help!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi
You need to select 'seperated' in DS 156. If it is a legal seperation, you also need to carry a copy of your court order. The consulate may ask about the whereabouts of your husband and be prepared to answer their queries.

It is advisable to carry some record that can help you to prove that you could not trace your husband.

You also need to convince the VO that you are not the one running away from the marriage.
