visa for parents

Hi all,

I have finished my MS this year and I am looking forward to bring my parents and grand mother for my graduation ceremony to be held next year.

I already have a letter from International office of my Univ. saying that I graduated and want my parents and grandmother to come to see me and asking the VO to issue a B1 visa for them to visit me.

Also I have been told by the international advisor that I need to send them an invite for the event.

My parents are going to sponsor themselves.

What are the necessary things they need to do in order to get ready for the consulate visit.

Aside from that, your invitation to the graduation will be a good proof of motive.

@ Sandy ur parents are gonna come there on a B2 visa and not on B1. B1 is for business purpose...All the best !!

Lemme know if there are any property documents or any other documents they need to bring since my parents would be self sponsoring there trip.

They need to show sufficient ties in India so that they will come back. Also prperty doccuments are to be signed by CA.They are likwly to get their visitor visa B2. I got B2 on the same reason you mentioned.
