I wish I could know this web site before. My mom's B2 visa was denied on 10/10, I am very disappointed and frustrated. here is the whole story:
my co-worker applied for B2 visa for her parents successfully last Dec., so I follow her instruction and prepare every thing she told me:
1. DS-156, DS-157;
2. my employer's letter;
3. my bank a/c and statement (40K);
4. invitation letter to mom in Chinese;
5. my Green Card copy;
6. my birth certificate with notary;
7. my mother's bank a/c statement (11K)
8. the house ownership in China under my father's name;
9. my mom's pension income statement;
10. family pictures
my mom is 57 years old and retired, has one son and one daughter (me), I came to USA on Mar.2004, I went back to China to see my parents on Mar 2005 and Apri 2007. I want to invite my mom to come here in Christmas this Dec., I wrote "4-5 months" in DS-156 for how long my mom will stay, is that too long? should I just wrote 2 months? I know I am missing I-134, letter to VO, income tax return, what else new evidence should I gather if apply for 2nd interview? we have 2 big houses in China, one is under my Dad's name, one is under my sister-in-law's name.
any one can help me asap? only my mom comes, my dad still stays in China, my mom is the only child of my grandma, and have one grandchild, she must come back to take care the family. Are those ties strong enough? my mom doesn't have any intension to stay in USA. why the VO is being so difficult? here are the questions he asked my mom:
1. what's the purpose for your trip?----visit my daughter and her family, tourism to NYC, Washington D.C. etc.
2. how long has your daughter been in USA?---almost 4 years.
3. how many children you have?---I have a son too.
he even didn't see any other documents except the pictures, and then rejected my mom's Visa.
my husband is US citizen, is it better if ask him to applied for mother-in-law? is there any help if I ask my pastor to write a letter?
pls advise, I really want my mom to come here in Dec.
thanks for your time and concern to read this message. I am appreciated if any one can answer my questions.
