I am visiting immihelp after a long time and would like to get help regarding B2 sponsorship question. I tried searching it on the forum but as I was not sure of the answer, I am posting this query.
My H1B (I-797) and I-94 have expired on 14th Oct 2007. My company has filled for my H1 Extension last month and I will get the original receipt of extension filing in couple of days.
I am planning to call my mom on B2 sometime in Dec '07 and am still searching for Visa dates(Mumbai - regional language). Someone told me today that I cannot sponsor my Mom as my Visa's have expired and I have just applied for extension which is not yet approved.
Can some senior guide me and let me know if its ok to sponsor someone based on extension receipt or should I wait for approval. The approval will take more time (3-4 months) and I am planning to call me mom soon.
Please advise.
