  • B1/B2 10 Year Visa , what does this mean

    Hi,

My Mother and Sister have just been approved for a 10 Year R B1/B2 Visa, we had originally applied for a 6 month Visa. What does a 10 Year Visa state e.g. does it allow one to stay in the US for up to 10 years or they have to leave every now and then within a 10 year period.

I guess what I am asking can my Mother and Sister stay with me in the U.S. for 10 years uninterrupted?

    Appreciate any guidance on this.

    Thanks

The visa is valid for up to 10 years. For several trips.

Their stay in the USA though, is only up to 6 months each time. They should not try to repeat visits for 6 months each year though... it is best to stay 3 months in 2007, 3 months in 2008, 6 months in 2009, no stay in 2010, 3 months in 2011. And so on.

They must spend more time in their home country than in the USA, otherwise their visa may be revoked.

They can no stay 10 years in the USA.
