balnce in saving accounts for tourist 5/6 weeks trip and delivery of passport

1 We( i and my wife) will be showing self sponsred tourist trip to usa for 5/6 weeks.How much we should show balance in our saving accounts .

2 After visa interview date we will be proceeding to some other locations for 10 days.In case we are unable to collect our passport on same day,how can we get them.Since our residence will be closed for 10 days.
Moreover if we give some other address,whether they will deliver the passports without any hassels.
Will you please write me the exact rules for delivery of passports.
