  • Urgent.......help at the Port Of Entry

    Hai,

My parents are visiting US for the 2nd time after 5 months gap for my delivery. I am due this december........to be more clear my parents came to US in Nov 2006 and left to India in May 2007.........now they r coming back for my delivery which is in Dec 2007. So my question is:

    1. What will the officer at POE ask them?
    2. Will he show any objection?
    3. And what should my parents tell him if they r asked for the reason of their 2nd visit?
    4. Can my parents tell the officer that they came for my delivery and also to see their grandson?
    5. And also can my parents tell the officer frankly that want to stay for 6 months in US if they r asked?

Can anybody please help me with this........i want to know which is the best answer my parents can give to the officer at POE so that he will give them 6 months visa.

    thanks,
    Dg.

I don't have any expertise in this but I have an employee whose wife was pregnant and her parents helped them take care of things during her pregnancy. They visited my employee and his wife every 6 months, each time for a 6 months period. I believe they have a 10 years multi-entry visa and they spend half of their time here in the United States. I have talked to them and don't recall them ever having any problem telling the truth to the immigration officer. In fact the gentleman (the father) said that the officer at port-of-entry asked him why he was coming when her mother would be the one helping during pregnancy. He replied "because I need my wife too, I can't cook!" Apparently the officer laughed and granted them a 6 months stay- for being truthful.
