Calling mother for graduation

Hi all
My mothers visa got rejected last year as she is a single parent.
Now i want to invite my mother for a graduation ceremony.
Do u think its a good reason?Also wht additional documents are needed ?

That would be a better reason. BUT, as far as reasons are concerned. The embassy is not looking at reasons for her to visit the USA, rather looking for reasons why she would in fact return to her home country.
