  • 10 years visa

    Hi,

I was recently approved a 10 years multiple entry B1-Visa, as I was scheduled to fly to US for a business trip. Unfortunately, my trip got cancelled due to some technical reasons and I am not too sure when will I be flying. I have been told that if I don't fly in the span of 3 months, the Visa will be considered null-and-void. I wanted to check with you if this is true and If so, whats the appropriate way to avoid this.

Also, am I eligible to apply for other jobs in US based on this Visa and after getting the job can I convert it into H1-Visa?

    Please suggest.

    Thanks,

    1. There is no such thing. You can travel any time within next 10 years.

    2. Just because you have B1 visa, it doesn't give you any benefit of applying for job. You will have to qualify independently. However, your H1 would be subject to cap and earliest available is Oct 2008.
