  • Is notarised I-134 form compusory to submit?

    Hi,

I am swapnil here. Me and my parents want to visit my brother in USA. He has sent a I-134 form. However he could not notarize it due to hurry. Is it necessary to submit notarized I-134 form? or its ok if we submit the form which is not notarized? Our appointment is scheduled on 13th Nov 2007

    can you please reply?

    Yes

This is what USCIS says about this form on their web site:
To file this form, it needs to be sworn to or affirmed by a USCIS Officer at any USCIS Office, by a notary public, or other official authorized to administer oaths for general purposes. If the sponsor is outside the United States, the affidavit must be sworn to or affirmed by a USCIS Officer or Consular Officer at any U.S. Embassy or Consulate.

This is what's written on the form itself:
If you are in the United States, the affidavit may besworn to or affirmed before an officer of U.S. Citizenshipand Immigration Services (USCIS) without the payment offee, or before a notary public or other officers authorizedto administer oaths for general purposes, in which case theofficial seal or certificate of authority to administer oathsmust be affixed.
