  • need help regarding my dad's 221g...

    Hi forum,

my parents went for the visitor's visa interview yesterday @chennai US consulate, and my mom was granted the visa but my dad was handed a PINK coloured cover stating that his visa processing is temporarily suspended(under section 221g).
my dad scanned and sent the doc to me, and it has quite a few questions and responses to the same should be sent via email only.

has anybody's parent received such a document ?
can anyone in this forum pls help me out by giving me a rough template of the letter to be written to the consul officer, to be frank a letter that would please a visa officer.

fyi my dad is retired for around 4 years now.

    please let me know,

the urgency is that the visa officer asked my dad to reply within 7 business days. i will be very Thankful to receive your inputs at the earliest possible.

    Thanks in advance.

this is common, just provide the docs that are asked for by the VO.

My friend's dad had spent 2 years in Iraq 20 yrs back as engineer that caused the whole delay, you have not mentioned about your Dad's prev profession so it is hard to say excatly and neither have you mentioned the docs he has been asked to submit. So it is hard to give exact reason for it.

But in my friends case her dad got the visa 2 days after submitting the required docs

      pls reply

      Thanks for the reply, waitin_toolong.

they handed over a PINK SHEET to my dad, and they have not asked him to send any documents, instead reply via email with .txt attachments only.

this is exactly what he received: https://www.immihelp.com/usa-visas/2...rm-chennai.pdf

do you have an idea of approaching each question, i mean a template sort of thing. I was looking for responses to the question, is there a specific structure or format, any formal approach ?

      Thanks again.

BHEL was once on USA banned list and now on significant company list, hence the delay.

U need to answer all questions as applicable clearly in the email. the first 4 questions are clear and require detailed answer.

Attach the text version of the letter you wrote for support.

For the other questions mention that this is not a professional visit but a personol one, but do attach a text version of your dad's CV.

A detailed description of his past work with BHEL would be good.

That and your details should do it.
