My father, who is 67, and retired is applying for a visitor's visa to come visit me and my sis. Some lawyer recommended to sis that we buy return tickets in advance of the visa interview to prove that he intends to come back. But many U.S consulate websites recommend NOT doing this. Has anyone been asked to show return tickets AT THE VISA INTERVIEW as EVIDENCE of intent to return to India? If not, what other compelling reason is there to buy tickets in advance of Visa interview? Thanks!
