Leaving Early before I-94 expires

Hi All,

I am hoping someone in this forum can answer this question :

My mom has a 10 year B2 (tourist) visa and has been granted a 6 month stay on in US. If she leaves way before I-94 expires, say, within just 3-4 months of her stay , would that affect the duration of stay she will be given the next time she visits ? i.e, will the POE officer conclude that she isin't using her entire duration of stay anyway and so issue only a 3 month stay the next time she comes to US ? Did anyone have such an experince ?

There is no such problem. Don't worry about it.

Leaving way before the allowed I-94 time actually works best for her, as she is trusted non-immigrant, who have strong ties home and can not spend 6 months in the US, she will probably be granted another 6 months next time she comes to the US. She does not have to use the entire time on her i-94.

There were times when I came to the US on a visitor visa, just in transit to another country, I told the POE officer I was going to spend 1 night in the US and go to another country, he stamped my I-94 with 6 months!

Same case with me also. I told at POE that I had come to attend my son's convacation and would be returning in a month's time. I was allowed 6 months stay but I returned in a month's time.
