Regarding Visitor Visa(sponsor)

Hello all,

My husband is filling visitor visa for his mother. And in the sponsor, it is mentioned to give "original Birth Certificate". Am not sure whether he has got his birth certificate.

Can Passport be substituted for the birth certificate ? I would appreciate if some one comes up with an answer.

He needs a copy of his birth certificate do show the link between them as son/mother.
