  • Parents B2 Visa Apporved!

Thanks for immihelp and its forums, I was able to gather all the info from one place to apply for the visa.

My parents (Both of them are around 50yrs and still working) got 10-yr Multiple Entry visa last week from Chennai Consulate.
This was thier first time and interview was in English.

All the documents were arranged in following manner:
    1. First folder with DS-156,DS-157,Appointment letter,HDFC receipt,passports extra photographs.
2.one folder labelled VISITOR DOCUMENT FILE containing:
    All originals of Cover letter,CA statement,House docs,pension paper,Bank verification letter,Bank statements(6 months),passbook,Tax returns,bonds,
    FD's and the family photographs.
3.one folder labelled SPONSOR DOCUMENT FILE containing
Invitation letter from me to consulate,Single I-134 for both parents, letter from bank,Employment letter,Bank statements(3 months),Taxreturns(3 yrs),W2 forms, PayStubs (3months) copy of my passport and my Original birth certificate.

Following questions were asked by VO to my Father:
1.What's the purpose of your visit?
Ans: To visit my daughter and son-in-law and visit places like NY etc.
    2. How many children do you have?
Ans: Three. Two of them are in still studying here in India.
    3. Who will take care of your kids when you visit US?
Ans: My mother who stays with us will take care of them.
    4. Who is sponsoring you?
    Ans: My daugther.
    5. Where is your son-in-law working? (I dont know why VO asked this question because my husband is not sponsoring them).
    Ans: YYYY Company.
    6. Where is your daugther working?
    Ans: YYYY Company.
    7. Can I see her documents:
Once VO saw my documents (All the docs have TABS)he said
"Your daugther is a GreenCard Holder; Ok then your'll get your passports in few days".

VO did'nt even look at the Vistior Docs!

    Good luck with your visas.

Congrats on your parent's visa.Is there a minimum balance the sponsor should have when calling his/her parents for a visit?
