Passport not received after Visa approval

Hi,

My parents got their B1/B2 visa approved on Dec 21, 2007. On Dec 22, my dad received his passport by courier. My mom's passport still shows as not received by VFS. I sent an email to the Mumbai consulate and they just got back to me saying that they sent the passport to VFS on Dec 21, 2007.

I have sent another email to VFS asking for a status. Since it is Saturday, I don't think I will get any response.

Has anyone faced this situation where the passport was sent to VFS, but never arrived at home? I am now getting really worried about the status of the passport.

No e-mail follow up phone/personally

Please do follow up by phone or even personally. Get the tracking number, courier name etc. for the dispatch of the passport.

The last thing you need is for the document to get lost in transit.

We called VFS a few times before I got a response from the US Consulate. Each time VFS told us that they do not have the passport yet. But now the response from the consulate indicates that the passport was sent to the VFS on Dec 21st. Now I am worried that VFS lost the passport. Has this ever happened?

I am going to ask my Dad to personally go to the VFS office on Monday to follow up.
