I came to the US from the UK in May 2006, on a six month Tourist visa. I have overstayed my visa by nine months. I intend getting married soon. Will the marriage cancel out my overstay, or will I get deported regardless of my marital status (to a US citizen)? I have heard conflicting reports.

Your overstay will be forgiven, because of marriage to an US Citizen. BUT you MUST NOT leave the USA before your receive your green card. Otherwise you will not be able to get one (banned from entering the USA) for 3 years.
