  • Visit from canda to US or Vise versa

my mom is indian citizen.she got Visitor visa for canaba and she will be applying for US visitor visa soon. if she gets US visitor visa, thn can she travel directly from canada to US for 4-5 months after her Canada visa is over.
OR does she needs to go back to India, before her canda visa is over and she can come to US only from India????

    Any comments??

    Thanks in Advance

You will not get a "new" authorized stay when you enter Canada from the USA or viceversa.

Which means, if she flies to Canada and gets 3 months stay, and then goes to the USA, she must return to India before those 3 months (of Canada stay) expire. Even if she got a 6 month stay for the USA.

That is unless she plans to Fly back to India from the USA and then she can just stay 3 months in Canada, give up her immigration stay when crossing the border or leaving to the USA and then stay however long she is allowed in the USA.

i m sorry bt i am unable to understand last reply.

what i m trying to ask is " if she have 6 months canada visitor visa and 6 months USA visitor visa. she decide to go to canada 1st n stay there for 40-45 days and thn she decide to enter US directly from canada on the basis of her US visa, On airport immigration officer will ask her to show her visitor visa and i guess he will give her I-95 also. thn can she stay in US for 4-5 months.

As soon as she enters the US, she wont go back to canada on her canada visitor visa. she will go back to india from US once her 6 months stay will be over in US.

        can we do that???

This is kind of confusing. Example if she stays in Canada 3 months, then go to US and was given 6 months.. its ok for her to stay 6 months and then go back to India correct?

Yes, if the person is leaving FROM THE USA to INDIA.

He can not return to Canada as those 3 months expired.

my mom has 6 months canada visa and 6 months USA visa too.
she will go to Canada first n will stay here for 3 months( from her 6 months canada visa) and thn she will come to US n will stay for 6 months( on her US 6 months visa). she wont go back to Canada. will fly from USA to India directly.

i guess there is no problem in this. m i right???

No problem. Just make sure the returns her "visitor card" or whatever she is given, before leaving canada.
