lingering questions: relatives visiting in summer

My uncle and aunt (living in India) want to visit US in this summer. They can show good ties and property in India.
- Is it better to show that they are self sponsoring themselves, or can I show as if I am sponsoring them?
- If they are self sponsors, can they mention me to the visa officer?

It is always best if they show self sponsoring. You can send them an invitation letter and thus they can mention they are going to visit you.
