Advise sought for US visitor visa

I having hearing problem, aged 57 yrs.My wife and I wish to go to USA to see my son who is working in New Jersy possessing H1B Visa.We intend to stay there for 3 to 4 months and return to India . Our purpose of visit is to see my son and see important places around New Jersy that our son is planning to show.We are residents of Hyderabad.

My wife has properties and is self employed , running a DayCare centre and I am helping a friend as ad visor in his industrial unit, taking some honorary fee .

Kindly guide me how to approach the Chennai US CONSULATE for the Visitor Visa
