Lost passport/visa/I-94

Hello,

I am currently working in the US under an H1-B visa. My problem is that I have lost my passport and with it proof of my H1-B visa and I-94. I suppose I have to just get a new passport from any dominican consulate in the US and then go back to my home country (Dominican Republic) and go through the visa interview again to get it stamped back in the new passport

My questions are:
1) How can I travel back home without proof of visa or I-94? At the point of exit they will think I have been here with no visa - what documentation do I need to be able to leave safely?
2) How long does it take to have an I-94 replaced? Your website only says it takes "a long time" but can I have an approximate duration? I am just worried that I won't be able to go home for Christmas.. I hope I can get it replaced before then.

Is it true that once you get an H1b visa your tourist visa cancels out? In other words, can a person hold both a tourist visa and a work visa?

That's not true. You can hold multiple visas.

Since I lost my passport I also lost my tourist visa. How can I get it back?
Do I have to go through the whole process of applying again and start from scratch again? Or is there a way to have them look at their database and just stamp it back in? If so, who do I contact for this?
