Reentering USA

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am regularly reading article and FAQ's at your web sites but never got answer for following questions. My Parent In Laws are going to stand for US visitor visa. If they will get 6 month visa then how much time they have to use this visa? Is it valid for certain time? Please reply to this message.That would be very appreciated.
