Missmatch in Birth date pls help..

Hi...

I have a problem related to my birth certificate ...My mom is coming on Visitor visa (B2).. my passport says one date of birth and my original birth certificate shows other .. wat i have to do to solve this missmatch in documents .... do the visa officer check for these documents...

Does anybody know the procedure to correct the date of birth in original passport ..?

Pls help its really urgent ..
