  • Rejected by US and UK: What should I do

    Friends,
Thanks for the help you all offer through this forum.
In 2002, I applied for B2 visa to attend a conference in US twice in a row and got rejected. After that I visited some asian and arab countries. Last year, I applied to attend a conference in UK and was rejected. I have an invitation to attend a conference in US in June 2008.
    Here are my questions.
    1) Does the organisation need to give only invitation letter or letter of support? They have agreed to pay my way and other expenses.
    2) I work with an NGO and don't have a property or house and lives in a rented house. What are other ties I can show?
    3) Since I was rejected by UK last year is it a bad remark?
    Thanks for your help

What was the reason given by UK embassy for denial?

    Are you single or married?

PLEASE REMEMBER SHOWING FAMILY TIES AND STRONG INCOME TIES TO INDIA ARE OF VITAL IMPORTANCE. YOU DO NOT HAVE BOTH (I ASSUME YOU ARE NOT MARRIED)SO YOU ARE BEING DENIED.

It does not matter if the company pays or not, you will only succed for a business visa when you can show very good income in India.

      I am married

      Dear Peace,
Thanks. I am married and have two daughters. UK rejected because I didn't show sufficient financial resources. I have investments of Rs 2.5 lakh
I have ancestral property which is now in my fathers name. Can I ask him to give a letter that it will come to me. What are the documents required for this?
      Thanks again

It is good you have strong family ties but like I said in my last post, good income is very important too. With a family of 4 to support, you must show Rs. 50k/month and above. If your wife is working too, show her income too. US/UK embassies take this as an important criterian to make sure the applicant will return.

Merely showing property inheritance won't work.

So what is your opinion, I am committed to a cause as a family and have only 16k per month. So should I try.
          Thanks

I think there is no point applying because you will always be denied because of the income issue.

If you wish to go to US for future settlement in US, there are other ways to go.
