On OPT ...have EAD...should sponsor parents for graduation ceremony..

Hi ,

I am an F-1 student and currently working on my OPT (also have my EAD). I have my graduation ceremony scheduled this April and want to invite my parents who are back in India (not US citizens). They will be on their tourist visa for a month.

I need serious help in gathering the documents that I need to send them across.All I know is I need to have an invitation letter from my University which I have. Have no clue about the rest of the documents. Also do not know if I need to show any bank balanace ...if yes,...how much ??

Would appreciate your help.

Why dont you google for a checklist of docs needed?

I tried googling...but i dnt knw if F-1 's need to file the same docs or are there any exceptions.

I heard its enough if I send them my graduation invitation ....

No such exceptions for Fs. $5k per person is a common thumbrule.
