help.. with interview question for parents

My parents have interview on march 3rd and i have sent all the sponsor documents.

They were not getting regional appointment dates in mumbai for many months, so my brother also applied with them for english interview so that he can answer.

So, now my parents and brother (he is married) are going for the interview. When asked a question like "Why is your wife not applying for a visa?", what should be the proper response?

Should he tell them that it was because of the regional interview dates not available? Or his wife's passport is being made right now and she will apply later? Please suggest a good convincing answer.

I am really worried... Can somebody help me with this question?
