Passport name of mother different from daughter's

I am sponsoring my mother-in-law for the visitor visa. My mother-in-law's passport has the last name misspelt from what my wife's passport has in the last page. There is one letter that is different between two passports. Will this be an issue?

We are planning to take the birth certificate of my wife. What name should we use in the birth certificate? the last name in my mother-in-law's passport or the last name in my wife's passport?

My wife has 2 sisters who are in India. When my mother-in-law goes for the visa interview, shall she take the birth certificates of all the daughters to prove that she has strong ties in India?

different last name in passport/son's passport last page got visa

Hi,
For me my passport has got different last name of mother's name than what she has got in her passport.
she got visa and they did not ask anything about this. May be they did not notice.
My Birth cert has got the name which is there in my passport.(mother's name).
