    Do I need a valid petition to sponsor my mother's trip

    Hi,

    My L1B Visa and petition expires this month and my I94 is valid till mid 2009. In this scenario (I can apply for petition extension only if my I94 expires in the next 6 months), can I sponsor my mothers US visa? Will there be any issues with her stamping since my petition is not valid?
