  • B2 for In-Laws - Who should apply?

Someone please help on this ...

We are planning to bring our in-laws for a month here .. I'm on L1 and my wife also works here on L2

Is it better that my wife sponsors the B2 for her parents or I do it for them ?
Do they have a better chance to get the visa if they are sponsored by her (as parents) rather than me (as in-laws) ?? Pls reply at the earliest possible ..

    Thanks
    Sam

The invitation letter has to be written by her because they have a direct realtionship with her. If you guys are sending an affidavit of support as well,
the person with a better income should send it.

Do they have a greater chance of getting the visa if they are self-sponsored?
What documents would they need to show in that case ? IS the I139 needed here?

If they CAN sponsor themselves, then they SHOULD do so.

Yes, they do. But they must have enough income /assets for that.
Rs 10 lacs/ year income. Or if retired, they must show very strong balances, deposits.

If self financing, all you need to send is an invitation letter. No I-134 required.

We are planning now to have them self-sponsored. If that is the case, when we prepare the invitation letter to the consulate and to her parents, is it better to give both our details in the letter to the consulate ? Or only mention her alone?

Also, should we mention that we'll bear any expenses like housing, food etc only) or say nothing at all about bearing any expenses from our side ?

Thanks a lot to all the people who are replying and helping us on this.....
