Dear Lawer,
My wife is an I-140 holder. But she was not able to file I-485 application to adjust our immigration status because she is subject to the two-year home residence requirement. Now my family has returned to China to fullfil the two-year home residence requirement.
I am the J-2 spouse of a J-1 who is subject to the two-year home residence requirement.
In order to meet the two-year home residence requirement, I came back to China. However, I found a job in a foreign capital company in Beijing, China a week ago, and the company will assign me to work in Liberia for a year. My question is if I accept this offer to work in Liberia, is the time I spend in Liberia countable for finishing the two-year home residence requirement? Is the time I spend positive to me against the two-year home residence requirement?
Please help me so I can make a discion if I am able to accept the position. Thank you very much for your help! I appreciate it !
