Visitor Visa for my parents

Hi,

I am planning to invite my parents to USA end of this year 2008 or early next year 2009. When should i take an appointment date? and for how long will their visa be issued?

Also, is it true that they have to travel to USA within six months of their visa being approved?

You can apply now if you wish, but I would recommend them to apply at least 6 months before the trip (in order to purchase flight tickets, etc).

Only the VO will determine how long will the visa be valid for, no way of "guessing" that.

They can use the visa for as long as it is valid. If it is a 6 months visa, then they have 6 months to use it.
