It is not very easy to obtain a visitor visa to visit your spouse in the USA. Specially if he is about to become an US Citizen.

You should go for a K3 visa after he becomes a citizen. That will get you to US in a few months. Do not think about a visitor visa as it is almost impossible for spouses of green card holders/US citizens.
