  • Interview language

    Hi,

My parents will have interview in new Delhi i 2 weeks. I selected English language for interview, because I was not able to get the appointment date in Hindi.
I read somewhere on this website that Delhi Embassy allows applicant to change the language for interview on the interview day itself. When I contacted VFS, they said the applicants must interview in the language they selected.

Will they be allowed to be interviewed in Hindi?

Has anyone change the language for interview on the day of interview? Please share your experiences.

    Thanks,
    Desi

This has been posted many times.

You MUST book the interview in the CORRECT Language. You can not expect to have an interpreter at the day of the interview unless you booked it in the appropriate language selection.

Many people have been turned down from the interview, because they chose english and they expected a "insert dialect here" interpreter.

I took a BIG chance by making appointments in English. My parents by chance were asked at Mumbai consulate whether they wanted an interpreter and my father replied yes. This does not work for everyone and I DO NOT recommend anyone doing so. Wait till you find the right slot and right language.
