  • Visa for my sister

    Hi,

I am planning to process visitor's visa for my sister. She is married and working in a private company in Hyderabad. I am thinking about the chances of her getting the visitor's visa granted.

    1) If she and her husband apply together for the visa, will it improve the chances of getting the visa?
    2) My sister and brother-in-law both can understand english and speak. But I am suspecting about their ability to understand the American accent of the visa officer. So, can I just book the appointment for their interview in Telugu?
Does it have any impact on the chances of getting visa?

Thanks for your suggestions in advance.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Srinivas.

    1. Each applicant is looked at independently.
    2. Book in English. It is not difficult to converse in English with them.

      Hi,

Thanks for the advice. If this is not a big deal, my brother-in-law will not apply as he can not visit at this time. Even if he applies for visa and gets it, he won't visit USA now. I was thinking of applying for both of them together just to avoid the visa officer getting doubts on why she is trying to visit alone. That's why I was thinking of applying for my sister and brother-in-law together to attend for the visa interview.

Regarding the language, I will probably book the appointment in English. But from the visa officer's view does it make any difference if we take interview appointment in Telugu or English? Is there a chance that it impacts negatively to take interview in Telugu where as my sister is educated and working? Are there any chances that the visa officer may raise any questions on that?

      Thanks & Regards,

      Srinivas.
