  • Preferred (L1 or H1) Sponsorship for parents Visitor Visa?

    Team,

We are two brothers in USA working with L1 and H1 visa from 2 and 3 years respectively. We like to sponsor our parents this month.
    Question:

Does L1 sponsorship parents have greater chance of getting visa compared to H1 sponsor?
Based on this response, one of us likes to primarily proceed with documentation, and provide other brother information as required

    More Details:
    1. We are only two brothers.
    2. Father retired and getting pension & Mother house wife.
    3. Couple of houses in Hyderabad on father name
    4. Father having power-of-authority (papers in bank) for other Couple of houses on our name (sons).

Duration of stay of sponsors as of date:
    L1 Son - 2Years
    H1 Son - 3Years

    Thanks
    dnag

Who sponsors is a trivial issue in this case. Your parents have no immediate family and no occupational ties in India. When the officer hears that both their sons are in US and your dad is a pensioner, I do not mean to dishearten you, they are very likely to be denied.

    I suggest the following;
Let your mother apply alone first for a short stay. Even in this case, your mom must show dad's occupational tie to India( self employment/ small job) to show that he is busy and cannot go.

Your parents must demonstrate that they will return to their home at the end of their visit. They need to sincere and truthful in demonstrating that. Look through the forum for suggestions.

Unlike Peace, since you do not say that they have ever been denied a visa, I suggest they apply together and plan an appropriate length of stay. If they have property to manage, it is unlikely that they could be away from it for 6 months and make plans for the appropriate length of visit.

Since both are working, let one with the most savings sign the paperwork and mention the contribution that the other will be making.
